Since its creation in 2016, the Partners for the Amazon Platform (PPA), through its Thematic Groups (WGs), has fostered the development of innovative partnerships and catalyzed socio-environmental investment opportunities in the Amazon. With the private sector as the protagonist of the discussions, the work developed in recent years has expanded the possibilities of networking qualified for the members of the initiative.
Currently, PPA has four Thematic Groups: Entrepreneurship, Bioeconomics, Markets and Territories.
With one of its pillars the engagement of the private sector, the Platform underwent a restructuring process to strengthen and expand its activities. In this context, it is inserted the hiring of a new Engagement Management, responsible for conducting the Thematic Groups and interlocution with the members of the Platform.
The management and mobilization of companies to participate in the PPA Thematic Groups was, initially, the responsibility of social organizations hired for this purpose. More than organizing meetings and facilitating meetings, organizations contributed with their networking and great knowledge about the relevant characteristics of the Amazon. Thus, PPA recognizes and thanks Idesam, Ecam and the Peabiru Institute for the brilliant work carried out in conducting the PPA Thematic Groups.
This important work was crucial for the institutional maturation of the PPA and led to the creation of a collaborative and multisectoral methodology.
In 2021, Eduardo Rocha takes on the coordination of the initiative's mobilization activities. Professional with passages in the consumer goods industry in the Marketing area, in research and consultancy for product launches and as responsible for Sustainability for different formats of food retail stores, he brings his skills as a consultant and facilitator to the day-to-day day of the relations between the PPA and its Thematic Groups.
