{"id":2564,"date":"2021-06-04T09:38:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-04T12:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppa.org.br\/?p=2564"},"modified":"2024-08-29T09:48:58","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T12:48:58","slug":"evento-online-promovido-pela-ppa-trata-do-mercado-do-acai-e-do-vies-sustentavel-de-sua-producao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ppa.org.br\/en\/evento-online-promovido-pela-ppa-trata-do-mercado-do-acai-e-do-vies-sustentavel-de-sua-producao\/","title":{"rendered":"Online event promoted by PPA addresses the a\u00e7a\u00ed market and the sustainable bias of its production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Wednesday, June 2nd, the Partners for the Amazon Platform (PPA) held another live broadcast of the \u201cCampo em Debate\u201d segment, part of the campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/ppa.org.br\/en\/mosaicodiverso\/\">Diverse Mosaic<\/a>, and this time it dealt with the a\u00e7a\u00ed production chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denyse Mello, PPA Project Manager and moderator of the meeting, welcomed guests Maur\u00edcio Navega (Operational Director of Sambazon) and Raimundo Brito (President of the Abaetetuba Fruit Growers\u2019 Cooperative \u2013 Cofruta). During the event, participants discussed the a\u00e7a\u00ed market and its international commercialization, as well as the connection with communities and the sustainable bias of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his speech, Maur\u00edcio presented the work developed by Sambazon, an international company operating in the Amazon, and its relationship with cooperatives \u2013 including Cofruta \u2013 and communities. He also spoke about the challenges arising from the growth of the chain and its importance for the conservation of sociobiodiversity. \u201cSince its inception, Sambazon has tried to reconcile industrial production with respect for the environment and partnerships with people in the countryside, so that we can provide them with a return on what we produce,\u201d he commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Raimundo Brito spoke about Cofruta as a pioneer in the commercialization of a\u00e7a\u00ed and in the diversification and transformation of the food into pulp. In his presentation, he also spoke about the evolution of the cooperative and the management challenges faced in this process. \u201cThis rapprochement between companies and cooperatives is important. This way, they can understand how the entire chain works, have a differentiated product on the market and respond to the basic needs of cooperative members or farmers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you curious?
