Crowd-Lending Platform

Platform that works through peer-to-peer lending focused on mobilizing investments for impact businesses in the Amazon.

About the project

THE Crowd-Lending Platform, which works by peer-to-peer lending, a modality in which a person lends money directly to another person or company digitally, is an initiative of SITAWI and of the Sabin Institute. The Amazon round also has as strategic partners and financiers the following: USAID (United States Agency for International Development), the Bioversity/CIAT Alliance (International Center for Tropical Agriculture) and the Humanize Institute.

In its first round, the Platform raised a total of R$ 1.5 million for 5 impact businesses, through more than 150 investors. In 2020, 3 more rounds were launched – with emphasis on the 2nd round, carried out in partnership with PPA, exclusively for businesses that promote the conservation of the Amazon rainforest based on the concept of “standing forest economy”. In less than 24 hours, the round raised a total of R$3.3 million through +70 investors. At the end of the year, 11 businesses successfully concluded their fundraising totaling R$5.5 million.
