Middle Juruá Territory Program (PTMJ)

Intersectoral collaboration and local governance to develop initiatives with a positive socio-environmental impact on the territory and riverside communities

About the project

With an innovative model of intersectoral collaboration and local governance, the Middle Juruá Territory Program (PTMJ) develops initiatives with a positive socio-environmental impact on the territory and riverside communities.

In addition to the support of USAID/Brazil and of the Nature, the PTMJ has in its second stage the PPartners for the Amazon (PPA) platform as a strategic partner and the participation of Bioversity/CIAT Alliance. Coordination remains with the SITAWI. Six local community organizations (ASPROC, ASMAMJ, AMECSARA, AMARU, CODAEMJ and ASPODEX) are among those implementing the actions. It will also include ICMBio, the State Secretariat for the Environment (SEMA) and OPAN.
