The project is carried out in partnership by Chico Mendes Memorial, National Council of Extractive Populations (CNS), United States Agency for International Development (USAID/Brazil), Partners for the Amazon Platform (PPA), Institute of Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification (Imaflora), Michelin Brazil and of the WWF-Brazil and WWF-France. Together, these institutions aim to revive the rubber production chain and, at the same time, promote socio-environmental development, preserving nature and strengthening indigenous and traditional communities, with fair remuneration for rubber tappers.
The work takes place in four Conservation Units in five municipalities: Canutama, Pauini and Manicoré, in the South of the State; Eirunepé, in the Southwest, near the Javari Valley; and Itacoatiara, in the metropolitan region of Manaus.
