In its first year of operation, the Partners for the Amazon Platform (PPA) has advanced in a series of actions to enhance Amazonian biodiversity and promote socioeconomic development through joint and collaborative actions.
Preparation of reference studies, pilot projects, planning meetings and engagement of new companies, holding a Call for Impact Businesses and also the 1st Forum for Impact Investment and Sustainable Businesses in the Amazon are among the results of this first year of PPA's activities, reinforcing the existence of strategic opportunities for forest conservation through startups and impact businesses.
The report reconstructs this trajectory, highlights achievements and challenges, but also points out the directions for 2019 – which include new strategies for raising funds and a rearrangement of the governance model, seeking to expand work themes and greater involvement of members in the development of actions.
