To achieve Sustainable Development in the Brazilian Amazon, efforts are essential
collectives. Currently, socioeconomic and environmental indicators are very poor in the region and, unfortunately, they have worsened in recent years. Deforestation, inequality, social exclusion and risks to human rights are examples of this. These are crucial issues that can only be resolved through a combination of forces between the different actors that address or influence these agendas. In this sense, there is still much to be done in terms of strengthening alliances, networks and coalitions, as we have common but differentiated responsibilities between the parties.

Companies operating in the Brazilian Amazon have the condition and duty to contribute with alternatives and resources for the social, economic and environmental prosperity of the territory, with the power and value that each one possesses. It is in this context that the Partners for the Amazon Platform (PPA) is relevant, as a strategic partner to strengthen connections, which can enable ecosystem governance between different actors involved in multisectoral arrangements.

Experiences that seek to promote a positive impact on the region have generated many lessons learned. The most successful projects are those that establish interfaces and true relationships of trust between society, governments, companies, universities, the media, communication partners and stakeholders in the field. I believe that this is the only way to generate alignments for the design and implementation of consistent initiatives.

It is also worth highlighting the role of public policies in providing control and inspection mechanisms, long-term and structural programs for health and education, and adequate and sufficient infrastructure for sanitation and energy. Likewise, it is essential to plan and implement effective actions to minimize socio-environmental impacts in a systemic and integrated manner. With these basic conditions, companies and society will have more favorable conditions to enhance development.

In the future, it will be increasingly important to seek social inclusion, strengthen people's capacities and public-private social governance, establish mechanisms to understand the dynamics of territorial development and financial instruments that allow us not only to invest in short-term demands, but also to generate medium- and long-term assets.

Thus, through collaborative work, I believe that we will be able to build a more prosperous Amazon and, as the PPA vision indicates, 'with quality of life, rich biodiversity and sustainable use of its natural resources'.
