About the project

THE NESsT, through its program NESsT Amazonia – Forest Incubator, aims to improve the income and livelihoods of populations involved in the sustainable development of the Amazon, especially women, and to promote improvements in relation to the conservation or regeneration of the forest.

With the strategic partnership of USAIDPartners for the Amazon Platform (PPA)ErolCisco Foundationand CLUA, the Forest Incubator supports a portfolio of socio-environmental businesses in the Brazilian Amazon, offering technical and financial support for at least 3 years.

Objective

Support traditional forest economic initiatives aimed at increasing gender equity
in these organizations and promote decent income for the populations involved with the
sustainable development of the Amazon. Although these initiatives are already seen as
fundamental for climate conservation, through the maintenance of the Amazon rainforest in
foot, its gender-transforming potential and promotion of decent income in populations
traditional is still little explored.
