Strengthening indigenous economic initiatives and economic and territorial governance in the Tupi Guaporé Mosaic

About the project

THE Forest Trends Communities and Territorial Governance Initiative (ICGT-FT) with the support of Greendata – Center for Socioeconomic and Environmental Management and Innovation as a management implementing partner, is one of the implementers of the Partnership for Biodiversity Conservation in the Amazon (PCAB) from the USAID and in partnership with PPA develop the project “Our Forest, Our Home – Tupi Mosaic” together with 8 Indigenous Lands (ILs) in the Brazilian Amazon, in the states of Rondônia and Mato Grosso and with more than 21 indigenous peoples. 

The project aims to strengthen indigenous economic initiatives and the economic governance of indigenous territories. This objective is achieved through the structuring of the value chains of Brazil nuts, cocoa, açaí and handicrafts as a priority, training in territorial economic governance to create good conditions for market access, and coordination with commercial partnerships based on the principles of fair and ethical trade, thus ensuring solid and lasting relationships.
